Welcome to Thailand: A Guide for Americans visiting or residing in Thailand

The Embassy considers the provision of services to American citizens one of its most important missions in Thailand. In addition to consular services (passports and birth registrations), the Embassy provides information and assistance in a number of other areas (notarials, tax, voting information, etc). We are located at 95 Wireless Road., just east of Lumpini Park.

Hours of Operation

The American Citizen Services unit is open to the public Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., except Thai and American holidays. (In addition, the consular section is closed to the public on the last Friday of every month.) Be sure to bring your passport for identification when you come. If you're going to be in Thailand for any extended period of time, please register with us. Registration is to your advantage in that it will enable us to locate you in case of a family emergency, and helps keep us better informed of the number and location of American citizens in the event of a large-scale emergency. We are required by law to keep any information you give us completely confidential, and will release it ONLY when authorized by you to do so.
